How to Donate Goods

To help us to continue to raise funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, and to provide a choice and variety of goods for our customers, we rely on the generosity of local people for our stock.

We are always in need of donations of good quality:

  • Ladies, men’s and children’s clothing
  • Shoes
  • Bags and accessories
  • Bric-a-Brac
  • DVDs and CDs
  • Unwanted gifts/presents
  • Small items of furniture

Unfortunately certain items, including electrical goods, cannot be sold due to Trading Standards Regulations.

Make Your Donations Go Further!

Gift Aid helps St Cuthbert’s Hospice to raise an extra 28p on every £1 from the sale of your
donated items - at no extra cost to you! If you are a UK taxpayer, please sign up to the St Cuthbert’s Hospice Gift Aid Scheme and bring the form with you when you donate your items to the Shops. We can then claim an extra 28% of the sale price from the Government, making a real difference to the services we can provide at the Hospice.

Donating and Collecting

If you are thinking of donating a large quantity of items, then please telephone the shop in advance. Alternatively we can offer a collection service for donated goods. Please contact the hospice on 0191 386 1170 between 9.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays, and we will arrange for one of our drivers to collect suitable goods from your home.

Please do not leave donated goods outside the Hospice shops when we are closed.
