Pay for a Day

Saturday 18th May 2019

All day today, for 24 whole hours, our full clinical running costs have been kindly donated by customers and staff at Marks and Spencer, Arnison Centre with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation.

Staff have chosen today in loving memory of their friend and colleague, Lynn Pearson.

We have displayed a certificate in the Hospice reception to tell all our visitors and show how grateful we are for this support. Thank you to customers and staff at Marks and Spencer, Arnison Centre for this special donation.

Help support people at St Cuthbert's Hospice by paying for 24 hours of clinical care on a day of your choice.

Our Patient Unit offers specialist palliative and end of life care to manage complex symptoms, and difficult to control pain.  We also offer assessment, management, support and rehabilitation of planned admissions for respite care.

Our Day Hospice provides specialist palliative care, outpatient appointments, day treatments, complimentary therapies and social work assessment as well as Physiotherapy and Lymphoedema clinics. Working in partnerships, we also run Heart Failure Groups and Respiratory Groups and Welfare Rights clinics for patients and their carers.

Why pay for a day?

You might want to recognise an important birthday or anniversary. Celebrate the memory of a relative or friend. Or mark a significant company or organisational milestone. Whatever your reason, we’re very grateful for your support, so thank you. It will help us to continue providing outstanding care and support to people in your local community.

It costs £2,300* to provide our clinical services for 24 hours. By supporting a day’s care, you can help patients during what is a most challenging and difficult time for them, and make sure they and their families receive all the support they need.

How we’ll mark your chosen day

We know that the day you choose will be special and meaningful to you. It will also make a real difference to people living with a terminal illness and their families. So we’ll mark it in several ways.

A Certificate of Support

We’ll create a personalised keepsake certificate, and, if you’d like, we can display it in the hospice reception on your chosen day.

Online

If you’d like us to share your story with our supporters, then we will feature it on the hospice website. We can also publish your name or the name of your organisation on the hospice homepage on the day you’ve chosen to pay for. And we can use social media to further publicise your support.

Cream Tea at our Cafe

The best way we can say thank you, though, is to invite you to visit the hospice. You’ll be able to see the help, compassion and care we’re providing to people with a terminal illness and their families, thanks to your support. And you’ll meet some of our team and enjoy a cream tea in our coffee shop.
