Are you a creative and driven individual with a passion for building relationships and making a difference in your local community? St Cuthbert’s Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic Supporter Engagement Coordinator to join our team and help us grow our vital work across County Durham.

About Us

St Cuthbert’s Hospice has been a cornerstone of the community for nearly 40 years, providing compassionate care and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging times. Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity and dedication of supporters in our community, and we are seeking someone who can help us strengthen and expand these relationships.

The Role

As a Supporter Engagement Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining sustainable relationships with individuals, groups, and businesses in the local community. You will inspire and support fundraising efforts, deliver a successful community fundraising plan and represent St Cuthbert’s Hospice in a values driven way.

To establish, develop and maintain sustainable relationships with supporters in the local community in order to maximise income, providing support and advice on fundraising events and activities organised by individuals, groups and corporate supporters.  

To deliver agreed targets through the delivery of successful community fundraising strategy. Community fundraising applies to businesses, individuals in the workplace, groups and associations as well as individuals in the home.   

To work towards agreed KPI’s for challenge events such as the Great North Run 

To represent St Cuthbert’s Hospice across County Durham to increase engagement, loyalty and support of the charity.   

To recruit and deliver school fundraising portfolio

Through fundraising, stewardship and engagement activities, harness opportunities to encourage donors to set up regular giving agreements.

About You

We are looking for someone who embodies the values of professionalism, choice, integrity, compassion, reputation and respect and can demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Excellent communication and team-working abilities, with the confidence to collaborate effectively with staff, supporters, and volunteers at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Creative flair and ingenuity, with the ability to contribute fresh ideas and innovative approaches to fundraising.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines under time constraints.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to use your own initiative to deliver against set objectives.
  • Resilient and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of work.

Experience in community fundraising, or a similar role is desirable, but we are equally interested in hearing from candidates with transferable skills and a passion for making a difference.
