How do you fancy taking on the challenge of England’s tallest peak in aid of St Cuthbert’s Hospice?
Experience the beauty of the Lake District from 978m above sea level! The Scafell Pike trek starts at Wastwater before the iconic ascent begins with a challenging hike up to England’s highest peak.
Scafell Pike Facts
- Highest Mountain in England at 978 m / 3209 ft
- One of the busiest Mountain in the UK with over 100,000 people climbing the mountain from Wasdale Head each year
- Summit Boulder Field
- Route from Wasdale Head is part of the National 3 Peaks challenge
- 3 miles up and 3 miles down
- Height gained 989 metres / 3,244 feet
On the day you can expect:
08:00 – Meet Up Sky Blue Adventures team at Village Green, Wasdale Head
08:15 – Commence climb on Scafell Pike
11:15 – Arrive at Summit. Enjoy the views from the summit and have a break
11:45 – Groups start the descent back to Wasdale Head
15:00 – Groups arrive back at Wasdale Head
16:00 – Drink and Meal at Wasdale Head Inn (optional)
Entry to the Scafell Pike trek costs just £20 and we ask that you raise a minimum of £200 sponsorship per participant.
Alternatively, you can pay the full registration fee of £65 when signing up with no minimum sponsorship target. All funds raised will help us continue caring for those affected by life-limiting illnesses in County Durham.
Included in your registration, each participant will receive a Hospice t-shirt to wear on the day as well as fundraising resources and advice! Your registration also includes:
- Entry to the Scafell Pike Challenge
- Invite to a pre-trek virtual briefing
- Expert guidance from qualified Mountain Leaders (First aid qualified and highly experienced)
Please note you must make your own arrangements to and from the start line at Wasedale; you are also responsible for your own food and drinks.
