Award Winning Garden Designer, Tom Hoblyn, visited us to see the progress so far with the rebuilding of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Garden of Compassion since it arrived with us. His visit was to plan the all important planting. He chatted shrubs, seeds and weeds with some of our garden volunteers. The garden was kindly gifted to us by Hospice UK following the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2025. It’s hoped that the planting of hardy plants may begin this month and floral, in Tom’s words, ‘fancier’ plans in the Spring.
At the forefront of its design is the people who will enjoy the garden – patients, families, volunteers and staff. We know that patients at the end of life often express a wish to enjoy the outdoors in their final days, something which has guided Tom during his design process. The garden features spaces which allow privacy, peacefulness and solace.
The garden was fully funded by Project Giving Back
