Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to any UK charity.

It is a scheme administered by the Inland Revenue which allows us to claim 25p for every £1 that you donate. So, for example, if you donate £20 we can claim an extra £5, making your kind gift worth £25.

And best of all, it doesn’t cost you a thing – all you need to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration!

All UK taxpayers qualify for Gift Aid

Signing up to Gift Aid does not cost you anything. You will not pay extra on any donations St Cuthbert’s Hospice claims Gift Aid on as long as you pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at a rate at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid claimed on your donations in that tax year. Otherwise, it’s your responsibility to pay the difference.

You can apply Gift Aid to past donations

When you sign up, we can add Gift Aid to the past 4 years of your donations to us. We’ll continue to add Gift Aid to any future donations too, unless you ask us not to.

We will give you a Gift Aid card with your unique Donor ID number on it.
