“We decided as our football club is focused on bringing the community together that we should come together to give something back. This led to us picking a charity of the year and to try and raise as much money as we could for that charity. I put forward St Cuthbert’s Hospice as myself and my family have had people in their care. I was quick to learn that many of the other members of the club had experienced St Cuthbert’s and that nobody could fault the care and respect that was received.”
“Since then we have held a few events: an 80’s night, bunny hop where over 150 children from the club participated, a fun day and a charity football game. Throughout this, we have had massive support from the community, local business and all of our members and their families.”
“We have to give a massive shout out to The Travellers Rest Pub and Restaurant Belmont
who saved the day and helped us rescue our Fun Day when we were let down last minute, they really did help us out and they continue to support us with anything we do. Also a big thanks to Susan Lawson Tesco Community Champion who is always offering support with any event we do.”
“Finally, I’d like to say a massive thank you to all of the Belmont United army – our volunteers, parents, players and local businesses for the time and donations, without them none of this would have been possible.” – Joe Marley, Belmont United Football Club.
Belmont United Football Club have been fundraising throughout the year for us as their chosen Charity Of The Year!
So far they have:
🕺 Hosted a disco night for us!
🐇Held an Easter Bunny Hop
⚽Organised the John Poulton Memorial Fun Day
🏆 Hosted The Neil Collins Cup Football Match
Through all of their AMAZING fundraising – Belmont United F.C Team along with their friends, family and supporters have raised £5,237!!!
