7 year old Nathan Rennison takes on the Durham City Run in memory of his dad Andy Rennison.

“I never imagined I would lose my sister at the young age of 43. Dawn was a bright and colourful person who had a natural skill at making, and maintaining, hundreds of friendships."

Thursday 24th March 2022. "We decided to Pay for a Day of care in memory of Mum on the 24th March. This is the anniversary of my Mum’s death. It means that on this day we can remember my mum in a special way and know that we are helping another family like mine receive the same fantastic care we did.”

Friday 11th March 2022 “On 20th December 2018, my wonderful wife Catherine lost her brave fight against Breast Cancer. She spent her final weeks in St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham, a place that means so much to my family as they gave the most amazing, end of life care to Catherine before she passed away. Our children were only 5yrs (Ethan) and 3yrs (Kara) when mummy became a star in the sky.”

17th January 2022. "Today would have been mum's 55th birthday. We all miss her & think about her a lot. And as a family, we think it fitting that some of the money we raised in her memory is to be spent to pay for today's care at St Cuthbert's.”

A brand new patient transport minibus dubbed ‘The Wendy Bus’ has been donated to St Cuthbert’s thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts of a local family.

This September Elliot Foster, 25, will be running the Great North Run in memory of his mum, Helen Foster, and to raise vital funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, Durham. He will be running in the place his mum had originally secured to run herself before being diagnosed with cancer.

This incredible drawing, inspired by time spent at St Cuthbert’s Hospice with her father, has been donated to us by artist Olwyn Reece. Olwyn’s father Ralph Reece was cared for at the Hospice in January 2019. Ralph was at St Cuthbert’s for just one afternoon before passing away peacefully age 88.
