At St Cuthbert’s Hospice, we’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

Striving for Excellence

Since our last inspection by the Care Quality Commission in October 2023, we have been working towards improvements.

  • We have updated our Statement of Purpose.
  • We have introduced and implemented new referral criteria.
  • We have provided training and information for staff in the management of naso gastric tubes and Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes.
  • We have expanded our safeguarding policy to include female genital mutilation.
  • We have purchased a new air conditioning unit for our cold room and introduced new processes for auditing its effectiveness.

Comments and Suggestions

One of the ways we can ensure that we keep our standards high is to ask you to tell us when we get it right and when we get it wrong. If you, your family, friends and carers have any comments, suggestions or complaints, please tell us. It is important that we receive your feedback.
