Wednesday 27th December 2023

All day today, for twenty four whole hours, our full clinical running costs have been donated in loving memory of Barry Kneale with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation.

We share below the loving words of Barry’s family:

“In loving memory of Barry, a dear husband to Michelle and dad to Cameron. Barry is missed by so many. But his memory will live on in all of our hearts.

Today marks a year since you closed your eyes.

Barry was admitted to hospital on 20th December 2022 and it quickly became evident that he had cancer which had spread extensively and he was seriously ill. He passed away a week later on 27th December 2022.

Tributes for him poured in from all over the world via the YouTube boxing channel which he moderated, showing just how popular he was. Despite being seriously ill he continued to smile and crack jokes with his family and followers alike. This was a true reflection of the person he was. Selfless and never wanting the attention shone on himself but always wanting to please others.

Due to the extent of his cancer he was unable to be moved from the hospital ward, but we always knew that St Cuthbert’s Hospice and the excellent end of life care that they provide, would have been there for Barry had we have needed it. So we decided to collect donations at Barry’s funeral for St Cuthbert’s Hospice in his memory. We have continued to fundraise and with the help of friends we held an 80’s night and a charity football event and have managed to raise enough money to pay for 24 hours of clinical care at the Hospice.”

We are extremely grateful for this special donation in Barry’s memory.
