All day today, for twenty four whole hours, our In-Patient Unit costs have been donated in memory of Lucie Hope with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation. 
Below we share the loving words of Lucie’s family:
“We, as a family, are still finding it very hard that our beautiful girl is gone. We’ve lost someone who was many things to different people. Lucie was a mother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved life and lived it to the max. She was a force of nature-one in a million. We all remember Lucie in all her Lucie-ness. Her many quirks such as brutal honesty, charming sassiness and her blunt opinions but also as being kind, loving and always having your back. Lucie was a loving mother to Abby and Amber, 2 exceptional girls who have been the strongest and bravest during this awful time. She was a loving daughter to Keith and Sharon and an amazing sister to Lois, Matthew and Jack. A reliable best friend to Lee and Natalie. An amazing, brilliant and very much missed woman.
Lucie had faced her illness head-on with her usual strength of character and attitude and never once showed any hint of fear, despair or regret. She was the strongest of us all. Her attitude was-it is what it is.
Our beautiful Lucie was only 38 years old when she was admitted to St Cuthbert’s on the 23rd of October 2023. She died 3 days later on the 26th October. In that short time the care she received from the staff was second to none and we will always be grateful for that care.
Not a day goes by where we don’t think of our girl, the 7th February will be especially hard as it would have been Lucie’s 39th birthday. We will never forget her and the full life that, in her short time, she lived. The memories of that life keep Lucie with us all every single day.”
