Over 80 runners donned their #TeamStCuthberts Running Vests on Sunday 11th September 2022 taking on the Great North Run for St Cuthbert’s Hospice.

The day was emotional for many running in memory of their loved ones, with thoughts turning to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a minute’s silence prior to race proceedings.

Runners set off from Newcastle and ran over the iconic Tyne Bridge, making their way towards the finish line at South Shields. For 13.1 miles they enjoyed the thrill of cheering crowds who helped boost their spirits and carry them towards the finish line!

Jade McArdle, Community and Events Manager and Sarah Donkin, Communications and Marketing Coordinator were in our St Cuthbert’s Hospice marquee in the charity village at the finish line at South Shields ready to welcome back our runners with snacks and refreshments, to say a huge THANKYOU for going the extra (13.1) miles for our charity.

So far as a collective, #TeamStCuthberts have raised over £29,000!
