Big hearted business leaders have raised nearly £5,000 during a charity Golf Day in aid of a local hospice.

x A total of sixteen Four ball teams of bosses from local companies supported St Cuthbert’s Hospice during the annual event at Ramside Golf Club, Durham.

Events co-ordinator Hannah Bunce said: “We had a great day out and there was a wonderful atmosphere among the teams. The gentlemen were wonderful sports and they took part in great spirits and appeared to enjoy our little competitions like beat the pro, champagne putt, nearest the pin and longest drive.”

Kevin Whitfield, of WBS Gas Care Ltd, which sponsored the event, said: “The St Cuthbert’s Hospice Golf Day each September always feels like a curtain raiser on the new term for business. It’s a great way for community minded business leaders to get together in a good cause and perhaps get to know each other as well. 

 

Mr Whitfield, who is a trustee of the hospice, added: “The Golf Day is always very well attended. Business in this area sees St Cuthbert’s Hospice as part of the fabric of life in County Durham. We all believe in the wonderful work the staff do for families, day in and day out.”
