We are pleased to advertise this exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for dementia care to join our team at St Cuthbert’s Hospice as a Support Worker for Dementia Care. St Cuthbert’s Hospice recognises dementia as a life limiting condition and promotes living and dying well with dementia. Our Dementia service aims to ensure people with dementia, their carers and families feel well supported. We provide a range of therapeutic interventions to promote this including an Admiral Nurse Service, Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and Namaste Care.
With the support of the Admiral Nurse and Namaste Coordinator the successful candidate will provide information, advice, support and signposting to people living with dementia, their carers and families and will support community initiatives to promote living and dying well with dementia.

To apply we request that you have experience of working with people with dementia and possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in health and social care. The role will include working in the community including people’s own homes and will require independent travel across Durham. Compassion, empathy and excellent communication skills are essential to the role. This post will subject to DBS screening.
