The first consignment of our Midnight Walk T shirts has arrived – and we’ve got some very cool models – our day hospice patients and our nurses – to show off how good they look.

Hundreds of T shirts have been ordered by St Cuthbert’s Hospice ahead of the annual midnight Walk fundraising event on June 21st.

Day Hospice guest Sylvia Gainford from Framwellgate Moor, the lady in the cap, says: “I would do the midnight Walk myself but I don’t think I’m going to be fit enough. The people in here are amazing – the company, the nurses, the volunteers are exceptional as well.”
And her friend, Vera Kitching, holding a T shirt to her chest, alongside Sylvia, says: “If my legs were all right, I would do it. I used to love walking. I think the Midnight Walk would be good for families and groups of friends. I would ask anyone who can to help raise money for St Cuthbert’s Hospice.

Hundreds of local women have already signed up for the event, which loops either once or twice around Aykley Heads in Durham, depending on whether they do the 5k or 10k walk.

Entertainment will be provided by singer Richard Morrell, a fire artist, Lisa Shaw from Heart radio and the Heart Angels. There will also be moving testimonials from people connected with the hospice and just before the walk, Mandy Fenwick will lead the walkers in a zumba warm-up.
